The PMSA (Public Monuments and Sculpture Association) is looking for an intern. This is a part-time post paying £9 per hour. It would be five days a week, for a minimum of four hours a day (Monday to Friday), but there could be some flexibility, particularly about the hours worked each day. It would suit a student working on a PhD or research project.
We are looking for someone with a degree in art history, who is enthusiastic about sculpture and public art. The person will need to have a good confident telephone manner, be able to write grammatical and clear basic emails and letters. They will need to be able to engage with the public and deal with, or refer on, enquiries. They should also have good organisational skills, be IT literate and proficient with social media. The person recruited will be directly responsible to PMSA CEO, Bob Lisney and also to COO, Joanna Barnes. There also will be regular interaction with the charity trustees.
The work will mainly consist of telephone, administrative and membership related tasks, but will also comprise helping to organise and attend events. The person would be based at our office at Cowcross Street, which is a building shared by several other societies and is two minutes walk from Farringdon Station, London.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is adaptable and willing to roll up their sleeves, when necessary, a sense of humour would be an asset too. We would like to find someone who would enjoy working with the team and could help us promote the PMSA and its objectives.
Please send CVs to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 8 June 2018. Interviews will be held in mid June.
